I anticipate good things and worry about bad things to come just like most people. But I like to think that no matter what happens in life I am able to see God’s hand. The proverb today reminds us that all our preparation, planning, and execution matters nought if it’s not aligned with God’s purposes and plans for our life. Do we need to plan and prepare — absolutely! Should we be disappointed when things don’t work out exactly like we planned — no. Rest in this assurance — God controls the affairs of men and He alone writes the pages of history past and history come.
Father thank you for reminding us today that no matter how dire things look it is you that controls the events of this world. Use whatever means necessary to mold
us into the godly men and women you desire. In Jesus’ name; Amen
